I am accustomed to looking down on the high-rise canyons of New York or Chicago, or across the vast sweep of architecture in Paris or London or Washington. And even Yosemite and Hawaii do not present the challenge that faced me with the pristine elegance of this area. The problem was to capture its diversity.
